Want to clean and freshen your drains? Here's how, the environmentally-friendly way:
Pour about 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain, then follow with 1 to 2 cups of white or apple-cider vinegar. The chemical reaction will cause lots of bubbling and fizzing. Let this work for about five minutes, then rinse the drain well with hot water (at least 30 seconds.) Then rinse with cold water. This pushes everything through the system. Letting it sit longer is not better, and it won't remove clogs.

The Fresh Start Market at 3020 Center Street N.E. takes styrofoam from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
You may also take your styrofoam and packing peanuts to Queen of Peace School at 4227 Lone Oak Road S.E. They accept clean, dry styrofoam blocks. They also accept clean, dry, bagged packing peanuts. These may be dropped off anytime, seven days a week. Also, most shipping stores will take your packing peanuts for free.
